What is the purpose of the Log Resources page?

The Log Resources page allows drivers, supervisors, and other authorized personnel to view and modify the co-drivers, trailers, and shipments associated with a driver's record of duty status (aka driver log).

* Vehicles are associated with the driver log through duty status changes, and must be modified using the Status Change page for a single event or Driver Log page for multiple events.

Adding or removing a co-driver*

To add a co-driver:

  1. Select a driver name from the Unselected Co-Drivers drop-down list.
  2. Click the Add button to add the driver to the Selected Co-Drivers list.

To remove a co-driver:

  1. Select the driver name from the Selected Co-Drivers list.
  2. Click the Remove button.

Adding or removing a trailer*

To add a trailer:

  1. Enter the Trailer ID into the Trailer box. Normally, Trailer IDs are limited to 10 characters and can only contain alphanumeric characters, underscores (_), hyphens (-), colons (:), or spaces. However, you may enter any existing Trailer ID even if it does not meet these restrictions.
  2. Click the Add button to add the trailer to the Selected Trailers list.

To remove a trailer:

  1. Select the Trailer ID from the Selected Trailers list.
  2. Click the Remove button.

* This removes the trailer from the driver log but does not remove the trailer from the current resources list for the mobile logging device.

Why am I being told that the trailer I am trying to add does not exist?

Trailers are assets that are tracked by the system. If the trailer that you are attempting to add does not already exist in the system, you will receive this warning.

If you have a user role with View/Modify permission to the Resources feature, you will be asked whether you want to add the specified trailer to the system; doing so will also add the trailer to the driver's log.

If you do not have this permission, you will be asked to enter the correct trailer or to contact your administrator to add the trailer to the system so that it may then be added to the driver's log.

Adding or removing a shipment*

To add a shipment:

  1. Enter the shipping document number OR the shipper name and commodity into the Shipment box.
  2. Click the Add button to add the shipment to the Selected Shipments list.

To remove a shipment:

  1. Select the shipment from the Selected Shipments list.
  2. Click the Remove button.

* This removes the shipment from the driver log, but does not remove the shipment from the current resources list for the mobile logging device.
