Home Terminals
Topics in this section:
* An application user must have a user role with
View/Modify permission to the Admin feature to add, import, edit,
delete, or restore a home terminal.
A driver's home terminal, or domicile, is the terminal from which the driver is dispatched
and to which the driver returns with the most frequency.
The home terminal is also the means by which a particular time zone is associated with a
driver log.
Home terminals can be used to control what records a driver
or non-driver user may access via the web application,
and also to filter the records to be presented at one time.
To add a new home terminal to the organization:
-
Click the New button. This displays the Home Terminal Detail page.
-
Enter a Home Terminal Name.
This is the name that will appear in the Group Filter
drop-down list and on the driver log.
-
Select a Time Zone from the drop-down list.
This determines the time zone used for the daily logs for all drivers assigned to
the home terminal.
* If Daylight Saving Time is observed where the home terminal is located,
make sure the Adjust for DST checkbox is checked.
-
Enter the Starting Time of the home terminal
-
Enter the street Address of the home terminal
(including the City, State or Province, and ZIP or Postal Code).
-
Optional: Enter the main Phone number for the home terminal.
-
Click the Save button to save changes and return to the Home Terminals list page.
Points to remember when adding or importing home terminals:
-
Because every driver must be associated with a home terminal,
you must add home terminals before adding or importing
drivers.
If all drivers in your organization are based in a single location,
create a single home terminal to which all drivers will be assigned.
-
The home terminal name and address will be shown on every record of duty status
(aka driver log).
A home terminal's phone number is not shown on the driver log.
-
The home terminal name will be visible in the
Group Filter list for any user who has access to that
particular terminal (or access to all terminals).
The Import option allows an organization to enter multiple home terminals
into the system at one time.
A valid home terminal import file will have 11 columns and one or more rows of data.

attribute begins with the text specified

from the drop-down list.

Points to remember when using filters:
-
Multiple filters may be used in conjunction.

that belong to the Central time zone.
-
Text-based filtering is not case sensitive, and partial matches are returned.
For example, filtering by Home Terminal Name = CH or ch
may return home terminals named Charleston, Chicago,
or Chula Vista.
-
For some Filter By attributes,
an additional drop-down list will appear instead of a text box.
The drop-down list will contain the options for filtering on this attribute
without having to type them in.
