What is the purpose of the Unidentified Driver Report?

The Unidentified Driver Report is intended to allow carriers to quickly view the list of events recorded against the unidentified driver. The page can be used to print the events for a collection of vehicles over a range of dates.

What are unidentified driver events?

ELD rules require some events to be recorded against an unidentified driver profile if those events occurred while no driver was logged in to the ELD.

The following events can exist on the unidentified driver's log:

Why do I see automatically recorded ON events for the Unidentified Driver?

The FMCSA states that when a driver's duty status is set to driving, and the CMV has not been in-motion for 5 consecutive minutes, the ELD must automatically switch the duty status to On-Duty, Not Driving (ON). Because of this, the Unidentified Driver should be always have an automatic ON status change event after each closed Driving (D) event.

I've assigned an Unidentified Driving event to a driver. Why is it still showing up in the Unidentified Driver report?

When an Unidentified Driving event is assigned to a driver, this is treated as an edit. The original event is marked as Inactive - Changed, but it is not deleted. The Unidentified Driver Report includes Inactive - Changed events to show the events' edit history.
